His doctoral thesis was focused on the evaluation of new non-pharmacological strategies to prevent nosocomial respiratory infections in porcine models on mechanical ventilation, in order to reduce the prevalence of pneumonia associated with endotracheal intubation, one of the most common acquired infections in critically ill patients.
