Animal Model Coordinator
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Animal Model Coordinator to join our research group. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of animal research, logistics, grant management, and database design. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in a dynamic and collaborative research environment focused at respiratory infections specially in Intensive Care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Logistics tasks (scheduling experiments, supervision of animal experiments, coordination of animal supply and care as well as drugs/consumables supply, sample acquisition and storage, coordination of regular meetings)
- Other main tasks (Ethical approvals, experiment and databases design and maintenance, Analytical Tasks, writing scientific communications, coordination of grants application and papers associated with the animal lab, fostering collaborations with industry, availability on-call 24/5 during experiments)
- Fellows/Students training (The animal lab is an attractive laboratory for national and international fellowships, the coordinator will ensure the appropriate training of the fellows as well as guide them during their stay)
Qualifications:
Ph.D. or equivalent experience in a related field
Strong background in large animal research and laboratory management
Training course of laboratory animals
Experience in grant writing, budget management, and statistical analysis
Proficiency in database design and management
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to solve conflicts within the team and with external stakeholders
