This competitive program selects excellent clinicians-scientist for translational research environment of IDIBAPS
The second call for the program 'Biomedicine international training research program for excellent clinician-scientists' (BITRECS) has been resolved. Dr. Gianluigi Li Bassi: From Italy, he lives in Australia. He joins the research group Applied Research in Respiratory Diseases, directed by Prof. Antoni Torres, in the outgoing format: part of the project will be carried out at IDIBAPS and part in Australia, with a brief stay in Brazil. The program offers beneficiaries, postdoctoral professionals, the opportunity to focus intensively on biomedical research for 3 years with a project framed within the activity of IDIBAPS. During this time, researchers must spend between 12 and 18 months at a foreign center and the rest, from 18 to 24, at IDIBAPS. In addition, the program offers training, supervision, mentoring and the possibility to establish new contacts and to make a short stay in a non-academic organization. Co-funded by the European Commission and the La Caixa Foundation, the objective of Bitrecs is to capture clinicians-scientists, a profile that is especially necessary in the translational research environment of IDIBAPS.
