Our research team in respiratory medicine has obtained grant for 2 projects in the latest call for grant applications of the Health Care Research Fund (FIS)
With 2 new financed projects this research group ensures the continuity of some of the main lines of research it is developing.
Our research team in respiratory medicine has obtained a resounding success in the latest call for grant applications of the Health Care Research Fund (FIS). With 2 new financed projects, this research group ensures the continuity of some of the main lines of research it is developing. The new three year projects financed are the following:
1. Leaded by Dr. Nestor Soler and entitled: "Diagnostic value of Pancreatic Stone Protein (PSP / reg) in infectious exacerbation of COPD: relevance of the microbiome" this study aims: 1) To demonstrate the usefulness of PSP / reg as marker of systemic bacterial causes of exacerbation; 2) To study of the microbiome in BAL Samples in patients with COPD exacerbation. It has received: 27.951,00 euros. Its expected impact is to define the clinical use of a new systemic biologic for COPD exacerbations.
2. Leaded by Dr. Jacob Sellarés and entitled: Association of MBL (Mannose binding lectin) pathway deficiency and pneumococcal serotypes in invasive pneumococcal disease, the main objective of this study is: Evaluating the Association of deficit via the MBL with serotypes of neumococo. Other concomitant objectives are: EIN epidemiology and its Association with guest factors, comorbidity, treatments State and concomitant vaccine; COMPLICATIONS Assessment and prognosis EIN by serotype and comorbidity or Evaluating Association of serotypes with fear EIN producida floor or high capacity with the invasive, among others. Has received 52.635,00 euros. This is a bicentric coordinated study, the coordinating centre is Hospital La Fe de Valencia and the IP Dr. Rosario Menéndez.Hospital Clinic, Barcelona has received several FIS projects in this call for applications. Our group has contributed to it with 2 projects that, over the coming years, will result in advances that can be applied to clinical practice.
