Un trabajo de nuestro grupo entre el 5 por ciento de los abstracts más valorados en el último congreso de la ERS
Uno de los abstracts más destacados, firmado entre otros por los doctores Hugo Loureiro y Jacob Sellarés, se situó entre el 5 por ciento de abstracts más bien valorados por los asistentes.
El último Congreso anual de la European Respiratory Society (ERS) se celebró en Berlín entre el 4 y el 8 de octubre. Como viene siendo habitual, nuestro equipo tuvo oportunidad de presentar algunos de los últimos resultados que hemos obtenido. Uno de los abstracts más destacados, firmado entre otros por los doctores Hugo Loureiro y Jacob Sellarés, se situó entre el 5 por ciento de abstracts más bien valorados por los asistentes. Hay que destacar que se presentan más de 3.000 abstracts en este encuentro de gran prestigio internacional.
El trabajo, titulado Characteristics of ventilated patients according to the difficulty of the weaning process, es el primer estudio descriptivo en el que se diferencian las características poblacionales y pronósticas relacionadas con la prolongación del weaning (retirada de la respiración mecánica). El estudio se realizó con 184 pacientes recogidos durante 10 años. Los resultados apuntan que la prolongación del weaning se asocia a mayor estancia y mortalidad.
