Our group presents six posters at ECCMID 2025: science, innovation and connections in Vienna
The Applied Research in Respiratory Infections and Critical Illness group actively participated in the 2025 edition of the European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID), held in Vienna from April 12 to 15 — a key international event in the field. Our group presents six posters at ECCMID 2025: science, innovation and connections in ViennaThe Applied Research in Respiratory Infections and Critical Illness group actively participated in the 2025 edition of the European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID), held in Vienna from April 12 to 15 — a key international event in the field.Seven members —Roberto Cabrera Ortega, Catia Cillóniz, Viviane De Cassia, Laia Fernández-Barat, Kasra Kiarostami, Guillem Macip and Alba Soler— presented a total of six scientific posters. The topics included:- the dynamics of phage sensitivity in multidrug-resistant and non-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P2373),
- the effect of inhaled amikacin on biofilm viability in an experimental Pseudomonas-induced ventilator-associated pneumonia model (P3138),
- the impact of engineered Mycoplasma pneumoniae on P. aeruginosa biofilms and the respiratory microbiota (P2355),
- studies focused on the respiratory microbiome (P2201),
- research on microbial pathogenesis and virulence (P3378),
- and experimental and cellular microbiology (P3512).
In addition to presenting their work, the team connected with industry stakeholders, including Oxford Nanopore and companies focused on DNA extraction kits and phage synthesis, with an eye toward future collaborations.
