Jordi Vallverdú Martínez

Research Physician

Specialist in Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, degree in Medicine by University of Barcelona, Spain. He has focused his formation as a resident in intensive care and he is now staff in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit of the Hospital Clínic, where he combines both clinical care with ongoing research activities. He has contributed to several projects focused on ventilatory management in both surgical and critical care populations.

He is currently granted with a research contract to conduct a clinical trial on non-invasive respiratory supports in acute respiratory distress syndrome, leaded by Prof Antoni Torres and Dr Carlos Ferrando. This study aims to explore the influence of non-invasive respiratory supports on the development of Patient Self-Inflicted Lung Injury.

His responsibilities include collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, coordinating research processes, recruiting patients, obtaining informed consent, collecting laboratory samples, and managing study documentation and data.
