Tobias Welte graduated in Medicine at Medizinische Hochschule Hannover in 1985. Alter finishing the first part of his fellowship, he stayed as a postdoc in Harvard University. From 2001 on Tobias Welte was a member of the School of Respiratory Medicine of the European Respiratory Society and from 2004 til 2007 on a member of the ERS executive Comitee. 2004 Tobias Welte was approved as Head of the Department of Pulmonary Medicine, Medizinische Hochschule Hannover.
