First Conference on Shared Care in Respiratory Medicine
The main objective of the conference was to build closer links between primary care and respiratory medicine in relation to the management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
On 16 June, 90 doctors and nursing staff debated topics relating to COPD, following several sessions in which a speaker from primary care and a speaker from respiratory medicine had taken part, The conference was a success and was accredited and declared of scientific interest by the Catalan Society of Family and Community Medicine (CAMFIC).
This is a pioneering initiative at regional level within the specialty of respiratory medicine as it was attended by speakers from all care levels of the primary care body. The main objective of the conference, held in the Sala Farreras Valentí of Hospital Clínic, was to build closer links between primary care and respiratory medicine in relation to the management of COPD.
This first edition of the conference focused on the comprehensive approach to COPD. The conference was organized by the Comprehensive Health Care group (AIS) coordinated by Dr. Alfons Pérez , Dr. Jacob Sellarés and Dr. Néstor Soler of the group on Applied Research on Respiratory Diseases (IAMR).
