IDIBAPS Awards 1 of 4 Postdoctoral Positions to Gianluigi Li Bassi
Dr. Li Bassi successfully joined the candidates chosen for the 4 postdoctoral positions offered
After an intense selection process, Dr. Li Bassi successfully joined the candidates chosen for the 4 postdoctoral positions offered this year by IDIBAPS. More than 100 researchers submitted their candidacy for the different lines, including Dr. Li Bassi, who was finally given the opportunity to join our research group.
Dr. Li Bassi has wide experience in managing animal pneumonia models. He comes from a long stay in the US, where he has worked with internationally renowned scientists such as Dr. Kolobow. The line that he will direct will try to reduce the incidence of pneumonia associated with intubation of patients; this is the second most frequent cause of pneumonia in intubated critical patients.
The IDIBAPS call for applications was published last April and began with the selection of 8 lines of research with the aim of attracting highly qualified European postdoctoral researchers. Our team presented the research line, piglet model of Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia (VAP) and was chosen from 8 other lines to publish the offer of a postdoctoral position in the journals The Lancet and Nature.
