Idibaps Respiratory Research Group Impact Factor substantially increased during 2009
The number of articles published keeps growing and the impact factor has increased from 76.37 in 2008 to 212.64 in 2009
The Impact Factor of scientific articles published by members of Idibaps Respiratory Research Group keeps rising. Whereas by the end of 2008 figures showed an Impact Factor of 76.37, at the end of 2009 it has reached 212.64.
The Lancet, British Medical Journal, American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care, Clinical Infectious Diseases, Thorax, Chest, Crital Care Medicine and European Respiratory Journal happen to be the most relevant medical journals in which articles published by Idibaps Respiratory Research Group members can be read.
The Impact Factor rate is a measure reflecting the average number of citations to articles published precisely in theses journals just mentioned before. Devised by Eugene Garfield, the founder of the Institute for Scientific Information, the Impact Factors are calculated yearly for those journals that are indexed in Thomson Reuter’s Journal Citation Reports, the aim of which is to critically evaluate the world’s leading journals according to their importance.
Not only has Research Group Impact Factor increased, but there are also 6 nationally funded research projects, 4 internationally funded research projects, several privately funded research projects and some clinical trials running. This shows that our research group has improved its scientific production thanks to a constant effort, and despite some failures that are part of the normal scientific activity. Therefore, let’s start 2010 with optimism; it will hopefully be a very fruitful year in terms of research.
