Lina Maria Saucedo finishes her research stay in the group of Applied Research in Respiratory Diseases
After two years dedicated to animal experimentation in Barcelona, Dr. Saucedo returns to Colombia
Third-year resident of Critical Care Medicine and Intensive Care Unit of the Universidad de la Sabana in Bogotá in Colombia, Dr. Saucedo has been involved in two research IAMR lines: one of Basic Research in the Animal Model division and another of Clinical Research on Nosocomial pneumonia and mechanical ventilation (VAP). After two years dedicated to animal experimentation in Barcelona, she returns to Colombia.
In the Line of Animal Experimentation she has participated in the study of non-antibiotic therapy in pneumonia and the study of the prevention of VAP. She has also carried out a study on bacterial translocation of the endotracheal tube biofilm into the tracheobronchial tree.
In the Research Line on VAP she has participated in the study of the pathogenesis, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of VAP in the identification of biomarkers for diagnosis and prognosis of VAP; At the same time she has co-authored the recent work of Esperatti et al. About pneumonia in intensive care unit (ICU) associated and not associated with mechanical ventilation.
