IAMR study on bacterial translocation during mechanical ventilation to be presented in the ESICM 23rd Annual Congress
This novel research will set the timing that bacteria need to colonize the lungs, from within the endotracheal tube
Dr. Gianluigi Li Bassi will present the results of the Idibaps Respiratory Research study Effects of duration of mechanical ventilation on bacterial biofilm translocation and ventilator associated pneumonia in pigs in the next European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) Annual Congress that will be held in Barcelona from October the 9th to October the 13th .
The results of the study, which has been led by IAMR researcher Dr. Gianluigi Li Bassi and Dr. Lina Saucedo, will be presented in an oral presentation that he will give on October 11th at 10:40 a.m in the ESCIM Congress.
This Congress will be one of the major intensive care meetings taking place in 2010. It will feature 11 parallel sessions including over 500 lectures, presentations, debates, round table discussions, tutorials and interactive educational sessions. Invited speakers are all well-known international experts in their field.
Presentation of original research is one of the priorities of this series of Congresses. In this edition there will be almost 1000 oral and poster presentations of unpublished research.
