Joan Daniel Martí and Catia Cillóniz presented their work at the III CIBERES Training Meeting in Mallorca
Cillóniz went through the pulmonary complications of pneumococcal CAP and Martí talked about the effects of duty cycles and end-expiratory pressure on mucus clearance
Research Physiotherapist Joan Daniel Martí presented a poster session and Doctoral Researcher Catia Cillóniz gave a lecture at the III CIBER Training Meeting on Respiratory Diseases that was held in Mallorca last 28-29 October.
Specialised in mechanical ventilation Dani Martí presented a poster session on the effects of duty cycles and end-expiratory pressure on mucus clearance. Once the research process came to an end, results provide further evidence that following tracheal intubation and with the semi recumbent position, risks of secretions retention increases.
Catia Cillóniz, who takes part in the line of research on community acquired pneumonia (CAP), gave a lecture on pulmonary complications of pneumococcal CAP. The results of the research showed that complicated pulmonary pneumococcal pneumonia was characterized by a more severe clinical presentation but was not associated with increased mortality.
Several young researchers from Aragón, Balears, Canarias, Castilla La Mancha, Catalunya, Extremadura, Madrid, Euskadi and Valencia attended the III CIBERES Training Meeting in Mallorca and they had the chance to share both their experiences and the national and international studies that they are carrying out.
