Three IAMR Group Research Projects have been awarded by SEPAR in the 2011 Call for Grant Applications
SEPAR through Fundació Respira (Spanish Lung Foundation) will invest around €400,000 in research grants 2011
The IAMR research team has been successful in the 2011 call for the Spanish Society of Pneumology and Thoracic Surgery (SEPAR) - Fundació Respira grants (http://www.separ.es). Antoni Torres, Carmen Lucena, and Beatriz Herrero obtained funding to carry out their research projects in the field of respiratory diseases.
Dr. Antoni Torres obtained a SEPAR 2011 grant for his project "Impacto de los corticoides inhalados en la respuesta inflamatoria sistémica y la evolución de los pacientes con EPOC y Neumonía Adquirida en la Comunidad". This project will recieve a total amount of 12.000 euros.
Carmen Lucena obtained a SEPAR 2011 (BECA BECARIO) grant for the project "Complicaciones pulmonares en pacientes receptores de trasplante de progenitores hematopoyéticos". To carry out this project Carmen Lucena has been granted with 30.000 euros for one year research.
Beatriz Herrero obtained a SEPAR 2011 grant for the project "Análisis del papel del Drenaje Bronquial en la prevención de las exacerbaciones en BQ-noFQ". This project has been granted with a total amount of 9.000 euros.
SEPAR-Fundació Respira awards a number of grants each year with the aim of encouraging research in the field of respiratory disease.
