Doctor from the University of Barcelona and a Degree in Biology from the University of Barcelona (UB), has a Master in Science Communication from the University Pompeu Fabra (UPF). Coordinates the traslational research laboratory of the group, and participates in the research lines of porcine animal model and ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP).

Her doctoral thesis has been focused on the study of the effect of systemic treatment with linezolid and vancomycin in the biofilm of endotracheal tubes from pigs with pneumonia caused by methicillin resistant Staphyloccoccus aureus. The results of this study in the pig model suggest that linezolid may have a protective role for biofilm development. Recently, the clinical trial in humans has started  to see if the results of her doctoral thesis are confirmed in intubated patients.

In parallel, she is working on various projects in the animal model as a responsible of the microbiology of respiratory samples and the study of new strategies to prevent biofilm in endotraqueal tubes. As coordinator of the new traslational research laboratory, her task is to initiate and strengthen the lines of basic and traslational research together with Prof. Antoni Torres and senior researchers of the research group.
